I love colour, it ignites my soul – the colours in nature invite me to dance, sing and celebrate – they invite me to play, to absorb their vibrancy, their love, their energy, they invite me to create.
Magic filled the air
As soon as I stepped outside I could feel the magic in the air
I have been walking up and down this track every day, for almost a year and each day I am gifted many miracles. Each day there is something new to witness; to be with; to appreciate and celebrate.
Today it is warm and the gentle summer breeze carries the scent of lavender… As I gaze in wonder at the dancing violets and lilacs, a swallowtail appears…a stunning contrast in colour.
The colour and scent are exquisite – inviting my spirit to dance – barefoot I feel the earth beneath my feet and my heart fills up with love and appreciation
As I wander further up the track, I am greeted with a smile from this wise sole…and I am reminded of Mother Teresa’s quote – “Let us always meet each other with a smile, for the smile is the beginning of love”
My smile and love grow even deeper as I approach the lilies – their colour is electrifying, vibrant and full of life. Another butterfly arrives, this time delving deep into the centre of the flower.
Covered in pollen, the butterfly spreads its wings and takes flight…these fleeting moments gift immense joy.
To witness these miracles – fills me with gratitude.
Each step I take I am grateful, every step is peace.
Each flower is a sharing of love, joy, peace, wonder, beauty.
Some flowers are wilting, past their best – some would say- yet I love and appreciate the beauty in all stages of life
Every flower is a soul blossoming in nature – Gerard De Nerval
Walking on, my bare-feet gently kissing the warm earth, my eyes lift up to witness a masterpiece – this radiant rose – I could not believe the glowing light that emanated from its whole being – in that moment, I melted into the light. Soul to soul, I became one with the light, the flower, the warm summer breeze.
You carry Mother Earth within you. She is not outside of you. Mother Earth is not just your environment. In that insight of inter-being, it is possible to have real communication with the Earth, which is the highest form of prayer – Thich Nhat Hahn
The smiling flowers make me think of our children and how they too, make the outdoors vibrant and colourful. Pure, innocent and full of love; how precious they are, each child unique, a miracle, a marvel.
I leave you with this inspiring note from Pablo Casals
“Each second we live is a new and unique moment of the universe, a moment that will never be again . . . And what do we teach our children? We teach them that two and two make four, and that Paris is the capital of France.
When will we also teach them what they are?
We should say to each of them: Do you know what you are? You are a marvel. You are unique. In all the years that have passed, there has never been another child like you. Your legs, your arms, your clever fingers, the way you move.
You may become a Shakespeare, a Michelangelo, a Beethoven. You have the capacity for anything. Yes, you are a marvel. And when you grow up, can you then harm another who is, like you, a marvel?
You must work–we must all work–to make the world worthy of its children.”
Wishing you all a beautiful Tuesday, know you are deeply loved – may the flowers smile with you on this sacred new day, with love Marghanita x
Part of my work at Educating the Heart is helping others rekindle that beautiful relationship with our Mother Earth. When we spend time in nature, it opens our hearts and makes us realise we are part of nature too. We don’t have to find a forest or garden to feel that connection, one single flower, one tree one bird can speak to our souls and open our hearts.
Do you feel disconnected? Are you longing to feel happier, healthier and more creative, I invite you to join us at Educating the Heart, we would love to share this beautiful and sacred journey with you.
