Our Hungry Caterpillar

As a children’s author and illustrator of children’s books, I will often begin an art therapy session for my special needs students with a picture book. This week, I couldn’t resist the classic “The Hungry Caterpillar” by Eric Carl. I love the simplicity of the illustrations, especially the segmented form of the caterpillar….which led me to create this little driftwood bug.

What I love about our wooden caterpillar is that it is simple to make and offers infinite possabilities for nature play.

I will be sharing “Our Hungry Caterpillar” post early next week….stay tuned.
