  As a children’s author and illustrator of children’s books, I will often begin an art therapy session for my special needs students with a picture book. This week, I couldn’t resist the classic “The Hungry Caterpillar” by Eric Carl. I love the simplicity of the illustrations, especially the segmented form of the caterpillar….which led me to create this little driftwood …

Preschoolers and Technology

Having just arrived back from a most enchanting encounter with a swallowtail butterfly ( the colouful being danced from flower to flower coming right up close, kissing my fingers with it’s fragile wings before fluttering off gracefully into the forest). I set about down loading my photos. What a great use of technology I think to myself.  Minutes later a Ted Talk appears in my news feed …
